How did the markets treat Big Tech in 2021?

As 2021 comes to a close, it’s worth looking at the market metrics of Bit Tech. It’s been an atypical year, one where the services provided by these companies have been a lifeline for many people hit by restrictions on movement, boosting their performance to the point that they are hardly representative of the economy in general.

Among the giants: Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Meta (and that could include a few others) . It was followed by Microsoft (51%), Apple (33%), Meta (23%) and, finally, Amazon (5%).

That metric is very interesting: Google has managed to protect its main source of income, advertising, from the crisis and thanks to its control over Android fended off other companies, unlike Meta, which was hit by . Google was already worth $1 trillion in January 2020, just before the pandemic began, and ending 2021 with a market cap of $1.96 trillion.
