Make Your Own GLP-1 Without Medications

I know you have heard of GLP-1 agonist drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro. But did you know your body can make its own version? The injectables last longer but along with better effects on weight, the negative side effects are much greater. Good news is that a large study of revealed mostly minimal side effects that are usually gastrointestinal in nature.

But medications should be adjuncts, not solutions. So if eating a certain way can give similar results, even if the timeline is longer, it is my opinion that people need to understand those options.

What are incretins?

are gut peptides that are secreted after eating and stimulate insulin secretion. GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is an incretin hormone that enhances insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying. That is how it helps regulate blood sugar levels and control appetite.
