Whispers
Conversations with the universe
And Nature whispered in my ear:
“Breathe in.”
And the intake of oxygen
awakened my soul
Reminded my blood
that the stars and the cosmos
fed the body
nourished the soul
and sustained my existence.
And Nature whispered:
“Breathe out.”
And my heart surrendered
to the knowledge of sacred wisdom within.
What if bereavement
for one who is very much alive
Is the longing for a piece of the Self,
a belonging found within the
soul of another human,
whose very existence
awakes to the Self a call:
“Rise above.”
“Live within.”
What if homesickness
is a memory of the cosmos;
a longing to return
to the wholeness, the Oneness
