What would be the first things to come to your mind if told that families are supposed to be the bedrock of our lives, the place we are supposed to feel loved and supported?

First, most of us might nod yes in agreement.

Some of us would reflect on our family situations.

And others would be disappointed in knowing that when it comes to their families, the very bonds that should tie us together can become weakened and broken.

No matter what type of family structure you belong to, we are seeing a rise in fractured families. When love isn’t enough, it creates a situation where division can easily invade. It’s sad to see the family unit becoming increasingly divided, not by geographical distance, but by waves of differences causing silence and lost opportunities for connection among families around the globe.

I do not have a lot of evidence to support this. In the business world I come from, it’s called anecdotal evidence.

What is often at the root of these divisions?

  • Sometimes it’s political divisions driving us apart.
