A Glimmer of Love Can Rescue You from Your Darkest Days
The power that keeps me going
Today was one of those days where giving up felt like the only option.
Tough times are what make us grow but they can destroy us.
Nothing particular needs to happen to bring you down, the weight of everything is enough to do that.
The days where you don’t understand your place in the world. The days where you live in your head as opposed to your heart. You can drift off so far into the Light to forget that darkness even exists. But it’s always there. Like a shadow looming over you waiting for that brink moment of weakness to knock you down.
Sometimes you can’t deal with it. You lose the sense of who you are. You make decisions that go against everything you believe in. That turns you into the monster inside of you that you’ve worked so hard to banish from sight.
Even though the sun rises every day and his light brightens up our world. Clouds, rain and storms can block his warmth. The energy he sends fades throughout the day. Some days, it feels like it’s dark as night since dawn.
The battle
Your biggest enemy is the one in your head. The voice of your ego is often louder than your intuition. That voice can shatter you. You can fight it off and choose to not listen to it, but we’re only human after all, at least in this life. Humans are descendants of animals, regardless of how high our consciousness grows. That side of us will hold us down or lift us depending on how we choose to perceive it.
One can witness the battle of survival in the animal and plant kingdom.
My favourite symbol of that struggle with one’s self is the Eagle. The pain they choose to endure to understand their worth and acknowledge their power. If they overcome, they turn into the deadliest predators in the skies.
Plants have to fight against the cold. Months can pass where no sunlight touches their leaves, but they have to stay strong and endure. They have to survive the cold winters and make the most of summers to bloom into colourful flowers.
Man is the same. Struggle and turmoil is part of this game of life we’re a part of.
Some people wonder why God made it so hard for us. How our creator is capable of such cruelty, such misery and such destruction. It’s not easy to keep your faith strong. When everything and everyone around you is pulling you in the opposite direction. What other choice do we leave our father? When we fail from the same mistakes, without letting our hearts be our guides.
Every part of one’s reality is a reflection of their internal struggles. The voice of the divine is often overshadowed by the ego’s need to survive. It’s blinding. Too much power does that to someone. It makes one greedy and unsatisfied with the gift of living.
Times get hard but we grow stronger with time. We can choose to grow or not. The pursuit of power becomes a purpose of its own. God’s voice rings clear when you are most in need. And if you’re on the right frequency, it’s always for the better. Always directing us back to the Light from which we came.
The darkness becomes a slave to its blinding rays of Love. Love conquers all things. It is the basis of creation. The first cause became the first word. But with all its might, Love is not easy. It shatters us too when you fail to see it in our fellow beings. It threatens our very existence to the point of complete chaos and destruction.
Choices
Most of us lose our way but few of us endure. The same way some animals fall to their prey. Some plants don’t make it through winter. Man too sometimes fails and falls into his own darkness.
Fear not, for this is not the end. A new dawn will come, another chance, another day in the sun. The same playground from a different perspective. But on that next day, you have a choice.
Would you choose to walk the path you’ve already tread or to become a warrior and defeat your darkness? The choice is always yours because love does not judge and it does not condemn. It only gives and giving is what keeps us moving forward. Love is the beginning and end of all things. The reason we’re here and the only one worth fighting for.
