An Empty Womb

a void within,
sings the curse of a sacred womb
left with slicing emptiness,
for once filled with a baby spiraling in,
now carved into a hollow of nothingness.

Footnote: Miscarriage or abortion may leave a permanent hole within the soul that never really closes. Grief is a process. Learn to acknowledge the strength of the alteration of your being.
