Murky waters
A poem for when you're sinking in self-doubt
I plummeted
Down
Depths
Sinking
In a never-ending pool
Of murky waters
Where nothing exists
Or breeds
Except the seeds of doubt
No sound
Or sights can be seen
As it swallows your dreams
Who knows how far I will sink
Swirling and circling
A heavy heart
Wants to plunge
Into the comfort of darkness
Until at least
The rising sun
With its silver rays
Drowns the shadows and greys
Turning that mucky seed
Into
The most magnificent bloom
You have ever seen!
We all suffer from self-doubt, it’s a curse of being human. For me it’s been one of my hardest obstacles in my writing journey, feeling like an imposter and letting the doubt seep in and penetrate.
