Is it cowardice to fight for someone you know you can’t have?
Or is it bravery to give up your love just because you feel betrayed?
Maybe it’s wisdom — to hide longing behind freedom,
to swap one chain for another,
to call it growth — yet fear your own desires?
We chase illusions, hold on to shards of already-broken dreams — then call it loyalty.
We walk away from the very things that set our souls on fire — and call it strength.
It’s like selling your pride for money, knowing you’ll still lose it all.
But somewhere in between pride and heartbreak,
between silence and confession, is the truth we dare not face:
That we are neither brave nor cowardly —
just a little too afraid.
Afraid to be seen wanting what doesn’t want us.
Afraid to be judged for staying too long, or for leaving too soon.
Afraid of being wrong about someone who once felt right.
