What If the U.S. Disbanded Its Military?
Could Those Resources Change The Country?
Here’s a thought experiment that’ll get you kicked out of any barbecue in Texas: what if the United States just… disbanded its military?
No, really.
No more Pentagon budget bloated with trillions. No more overseas bases in 80 countries. No more endless wars, drone strikes, or coups “for democracy.” Just pack it up, shut it down.
Let the cops, who already get billions to play GI Joe, protect the borders if that’s the excuse people need to sleep at night. Not to mention who would dare invade the U.S.? A place with more guns than people… Sure it’s not a standing army, but it’d definitely cause a lot of attrition to any invading force. Look at the U.S’s losses in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq as examples.
Sounds ridiculous? Only because you’ve been raised to worship the military-industrial complex like it’s a golden calf wrapped in the flag.
Ask yourself: what exactly would happen if we did?
Probably less than you think. And we might finally be able to fix the country we actually live in instead of torching the ones we don’t.
This isn’t a novel concept; other nations have done this and been just fine…and their citizens benefited from…
