Time = Money and Money = Time
The ongoing question — which is more valuable?
“Another day, another dollar” was first coined by an American sailor in the 19th century. This meant that after a day of laborious and tedious work, the sailors and seamen had to return to the deck the next day for another dollar’s worth of work. Nowadays, this has become a common phrase world wide. It is a phrase we commonly think about or at least gruntle about when we need to return to work each unremarkable day. Well, I look at it from two different perspectives — which is more valuable in my life: time or money?
Each week, I journal my thoughts of the most pressing matter and what I have done about them. I want to say time is precious because it goes by so fast and now a new year is on the horizon. What have I accomplished? What goals am I heading for the next week, month, or year? However, I also want to say money is precious because without money is like without water to survive. How can I survive through everyday inflation within this capitalist nation without money? This has become an endless train wreck cycle in my head. When I ask others about this topic around the age group of 20’s to late 30’s — what do they think is more precious: time or money? It almost seems like they want instant gratification which means they value money to be precious. They rather hop on the plane to get…
