Musk could yet save social media

Musk was asked about his now proved to be a false claim that millions of US dollars were being spent on condoms being sent to Gaza.

He said, “Yes, some things I’m going to say are going to be wrong, and I need to be corrected if they are.”

Now this is really a huge breakthrough, I think, in the world of social media.

Let’s call it social media for simplicity, but obviously, for a lot of people, this is more than pictures of your cats or your family holiday or keeping in touch with friends. It’s journalist social media these days. It’s political. I wouldn’t want to, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else getting their information from social media. Of course not, but I think a lot of people actually do, and because of that, it needs the same rigor that you would expect from any decent journalistic organization.
