I always wanted a boat
to float across the horizon
The symbol of freedom
in my minds eye
connected to nothing
—simultaneously everything —
something small
for me and my wife
and a dog who likes
the sea as much as me.
A bottle of wine on the bow,
music in the background,
waves to keep the rhythm,
a sunset in the distance
just a small sailboat

I always wanted to be a pilot
not of any commercial company
but a solo flyer
in a ringy-dingy plane
with propellers on the side
still open to the wind
that holds
me and my plane
up in the air
Up in the air
is a great view
of the horizon
up in the air
is a problem-free
place to be
