Living in a Faceless Society
A world free from physical judgment.
I intentionally talk to myself like a “crazy” person in public. Nobody would notice anyway since we have to keep our strict social distance and I am wearing the almighty face mask for protection. How’s that going for me? Keeps me sane for entertaining myself with my own company.
Imagine a mere mundane existing in a world without facial judgment. We were brought up eons ago by the norms of beauty — the preference of physical attractiveness. Nowadays, we find it hard to get it out of our cultural box because that way of thinking has been passed down from generation to generation.
Now, let us try to gradually change it by focusing on what we can offer within our souls because that is one of the keys to living in a better world. Sadly, due to the vast usage of social media for showing off a filtered fantasy, we give ourselves the criteria and definition of a pretty face. Leaving us with low self-esteem and mental anxiety wherein we continuously compare ourselves to celebrities. Momentarily, the strict implication of wearing protective gear when you go out makes us somewhat mysterious.
“How does that person look like without the mask?” — currently the most redundant question in your head.
