You’re Not the Only One
What to Remember When Your Faith Evolves and Others Don’t Understand
It happened again yesterday.
It happens all the time.
I meet someone who’s on a journey — like we all are — and they’ve recently had a shift in how they understand faith. They grew up with a framework handed down from their parents, church, youth group, college, and town.
It worked for a while.
Until it didn’t.
Until the questions got too loud and the answers too quiet.
Over time, they disengaged. The language that used to inspire now felt distant. Church became harder to show up for. The stories stopped speaking. The energy that once came easily was gone.
And then — something happened.
They read a book.
They had a conversation.
They heard someone say something that clicked deep inside them.
And suddenly, they had a language for what they were experiencing—a whole new way to think about faith.
They realised: I’m not the only one.
And it was exhilarating.
But then , they tried to share it.
