Is My Sanity Worth Trading For Money?
Difficult choices but one defining moment.
He told me he didn’t want to share me with anyone and I was happy and proud. I felt cherished hearing those words but never knew the depth of what he meant. His understanding of the word “sharing” was entirely different from mine. I wasn’t going to cheat, if that’s what he meant but, what he offered was annoyingly unacceptable.
He had returned from the U.S. after working there for years and he was stinking rich. Money wasn’t the problem in our relationship. He gave me more than I could even ask but as each day unfolded, I began to understand that money alone can’t build a strong foundation for any relationship to thrive.
He monitored my movements and told me he didn’t want me to betray him with any man. His first relationship ended because his girlfriend cheated on him after he had sacrificed a lot, so it left him with that longing to have me all to himself and never to cheat on him like his ex. I totally understood.
His jealousy grew into acute possession, the kind that I can’t tolerate. He bathed me with insecurities, stopped me from communicating with any man, even strangers asking questions or the guys I’ve known before.
