The 3 Advents of Jesus

Advent — means “coming” or “arrival” and is a season in the Christian church that anticipates the coming of Jesus Christ.

The word Advent is derived from the Latin adventus, which translates to “coming” and is rooted in the Greek word parousia, often used to refer to Christ’s second coming.

Advent is a season of waiting, receiving, and expecting.

But it’s so much more than just counting down the days until Christmas. Advent invites us into a profound spiritual journey where we experience the threefold coming of Jesus:

✨ His First Coming:

The miracle of God becoming flesh, born in a humble manger. We celebrate Emmanuel, “God with us,” and reflect on the love that brought the King of Kings to dwell among us.

✨ His Present Coming(s):

Jesus isn’t confined to history — He’s present with us now through the Holy Spirit. He continues to come to us — dwelling within us and resting upon us through the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our Immanuel — God being with us.

✨ His Second Coming:

Advent also points us forward, renewing our hope as we await Christ’s glorious return. It’s a time to live with expectant faith and be ready for the fulfillment of His promises.
