How a Scent Can Trigger a Beautiful Memory
A poem of contentment
Contentment
The scent of pine
Takes me back
Far back
To a bench
I sit beside
My grandfather
We chat
I’m ten years old
The pine trees
Surround us
The shade
Envelopes us
He smokes
A pipe
It mixes
With the pine
Peace
Contentment
Love
Every time
I smell
The scent
Of pine
I remember
My grandfather
