As of April 22, 2025, Authorship is available within Google Docs via the Grammarly browser extension and as a beta release in Microsoft Word via Grammarly for Windows and Mac.

Grammarly Authorship allows you to show the source of your text. When you activate Authorship tracking, Grammarly actively monitors the writing process. It automatically identifies the source of text as it is added to the content of a document.
As Grammarly operates within your browser and on your desktop, it can differentiate between text entered directly into your document, text copied from a browser-based source, and text pasted from an unidentified source, such as a private browsing window.
Additionally, it offers distinct classifications, differentiating between text created by AI and text written by the user and subsequently altered using Grammarly’s generative AI rephrasing feature.
