The Sweet Release
A Poem About Dying
1 min readAug 5, 2019
You lay still
Breathing so slowly
Surrendering to the fate
We all return to
Wracked with longing
For the next stage
Of your Journey
So tired of contending
So over the affliction
Dear one, please go
If you must
Your love will live on
Your wisdom ingrained
Bestowed on appreciative receivers
You are adored
You are beautiful
Even in the hour of your end
Be free, be joyous
You are nearly there
