Friends: Your Life’s MVPs
Keep them close
I felt like writing this story now, because its the end of the year, I am graduating, and I have never appreciated the close and deep friendships I have made along the way any more than I do today.
I hope this will be a reminder for everyone to cherish your moments, and to appreciate the people around you — isn’t that the spirit of Christmas ?
Friendship is more than just shared laughs and inside jokes; it’s a cornerstone of human existence.
I have met a lot of people in the last few years of my life — some I regret losing touch with, and some I am thankful to consider as life-long friends.
Bonds get stronger with time, but nothing is more valuable than a friendship which aged like fine wine over many years.
Good friendships don’t just affect you; they impact your entire community.
Friends inspire us to be better, creating a ripple effect of kindness, empathy, and positivity.
And I don’t mean just acquaintances — take the time to make a few, deep personal friendships. These are the relationships that will last — these people will truly be there for you at your worst times.
Here are a few things we might forget in our busy daily lives, that are vital for good friendships.
Being Open: It is necessary that you are able to get over your awkwardness or ego, to say “sorry” or to say “thank you”. It is these words that strengthen and mend relationships over time.
Show Up: Consistency is the bedrock of strong relationships. Be with them, and be present during challenges and celebrations. Sometimes words don’t matter — your presence is enough.
Invest Time: Prioritize your friends. Like any relationship, what you give is what you get. Fail to invest time now, and you may just regret it in the future.
And of course, the most important one
Give your friends the most wonkiest nicknames you can think off — it really builds the strongest bonds between friends 🤣
