What Is This Editor Up To? Letters
Dear readers,
I am your new editor, and I thought it might be time to say hello again and give you a few ideas about what I like to read. I won’t focus too much on the negative because we all know by now that what we put our focus on often is somehow manifested into our periphery. I am sure you have an imagination and are at this very moment conjuring something up in your mind, so I will leave that thought there and continue.
Please continue to submit your articles to Pragmatic Wisdom. I took a short holiday, but have returned today with renewed vigour, and I am determined to stay a while and see what you, our writers, come up with.
I have always enjoyed philosophy, even though I didn’t study the subject as a discipline at university. Reading English for my bachelor's did mean that we read some philosophy, psychology, history, poetry, literature and so on, and it was difficult at times to focus on the syllabus because there were so many men and women of letters that I often became distracted. I went off to read something which was of no use whatsoever to my degree subject, but which gave me a more solid grounding because whenever I read a writer who appeared to be so knowledgeable and wise, I could recognise when they were simply regurgitating or restating the thoughts of the philosophers and thinkers that came before them…
