Title: Tackling Climate Change: A Critical Moment for Our Planet and Ourselves
By Zainab Khawaja
If you’ve paid attention to the weather or turned on the news lately, you probably sense that something’s off. The seasons seem different. Storms hit harder. Heat waves stretch out longer. And in the back of our minds, a question keeps popping up: What are we doing to our planet?
Climate Change Is Real – And So Are We
Climate change isn’t something that might happen in the future – it’s happening now. The Earth has warmed about 1.2°C since the late 1800s, mainly because of burning fossil fuels and cutting down trees. This rise in temperature has led to stronger natural disasters, wonky weather patterns, and troubled ecosystems.
But this isn’t just a tale of doom. It’s also a tale of choice.
We Understand the Causes – And the Solutions
We know what causes climate change. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane trap heat in the air, warming things up. Most of these gases come from what we do every day – like producing energy, driving, farming, and industrial activities.
