Myth: Housing assistance is the solution to all of the problems of poor people.

There is a lot of shame in admitting that. Most people avoid talking about it if they receive it.

There are many reasons that range from social to safety.

Because people don’t talk about housing assistance, there are many misconceptions around it.

One of the most persistent is that those on housing assistance pay almost nothing for rent (or housing in general).

Part of the reason there is so much misinformation is that there is a general lack of information on housing assistance.
