Did I Overshare Again?

Setting boundaries is about drawing lines around what is and isn’t acceptable for your personal emotional health and mental space. When we fail to set boundaries — whether in relationships, social media, or work — we often expose ourselves to unwanted stress, burnout, and vulnerability.

Without boundaries, it becomes easy to feel overwhelmed. You may be letting too many people in without considering their role in your life or the emotional energy you’re expending by sharing too much. This can result in feelings of exhaustion, resentment, or being emotionally drained

Setting boundaries can be difficult, especially when it comes to not oversharing. But when you establish boundaries, you’re protecting your privacy — a privilege that should be respected. It’s easy for people around you to pass judgment when they know too much about your personal life. They may say or do things that hurt your feelings, and sometimes, it affects not just you but also those close to you.

Once those lines are crossed, people might feel entitled to talk about your personal matters without hesitation, making you feel exposed and vulnerable. This can lead to a loss of trust and respect, not just for yourself but for your relationships as well.
