What I learned about life after watching too many crime documentaries
You know you have watched too many crime documentaries if you start worrying about danger when you are just walking a few steps from your living room to your kitchen. Besides getting spooked out and slightly paranoid on how scary the world can be, I thought I should put my binge watching to better use by doing and sharing my reflections.
When your time is up, it is up
It is the only explanation that I can give to make sense of why one lady got killed due to a mistaken identity whereas another lady survived not one but two attempts by her husband to kill her. Initially, many of the crime documentaries I watched were about domestic violence. It got me thinking that many of the ladies who were killed by their husbands married the wrong man. So the key is to be careful about who you marry!
Then I watched this bizarre case where an ordinary lady in a healthy marriage got shot in the face during a jog near her home. As per usual police protocol, her husband became a person of interest. He was cleared of suspicion after passing a polygraph. The investigators could not find any reason why anyone would want the lady killed and in such a brutal way. Eventually, they found another eerily similar case where a hitman tried to kill a man who was luckier and survived. They traced to the mastermind who hired the hitman in both cases but he had already died from a heart condition.
