What Happened When The World Stopped..

My CoVid story..

I recently read

’s Covid story and it inspired me to write my own, though mine is quite different.

We had seen it on the news, the week before it had been building and generally the feeling was that the government was going to make an announcement, but I didn’t envisage just what would happen.

The announcement came on March 30th 2020 and I immediately began receiving texts from my customers cancelling their cleans for the foreseeable future. I went from working everyday to no work, whatsoever.

School was in touch, my son was to stay home until we heard differently, they had a plan to establish some sort of home learning. However, my son compartmentalises school from home and this would not be an easy transistion for him, plus this was his first year at his new school. He had only just transitioned. Change, of any sort can be difficult to cope with. Honestly, he just saw it as holiday from school, it was not easy to explain why he was staying home.

My partner’s therapist was in touch, he had started a course of therapy — weekly appointments to help him with complex PTSD symptoms. It has taken a long time to get this therapy underway. We were advised that there would be no more therapy for the time being and that they would be ‘hopefully’ managing an…
