Take Off the Coat of Self-Limitation
A creative visualization
Imagine that any pain you’re holding onto is literally an old, sullied, unflattering coat that never really did for anything you.
Now look at it with fresh eyes. The truth is, the coat has been binding and choking you, hindering the potential of your fabulous physique. It’s more like a straight jacket, except it wants you to stay slumped over in self-defeat rather than stand up straight.
Struggling causes it to twist and tighten around you more stringently.
It is the coat of self-limitation.
Do you see the absurdity of this situation?
Now, imagine calmly unbuttoning the coat (it’s OK to get help if there are some buttons around the back that you can’t quite see; these are your blind spots), taking it off, and lightly walking it out to your trash bin. Then, brush the dust off your hands. Done.
You’re better than that outdated, scruffy rag. It was never you.
You have personal style and flair.
You are a magnificent specimen of a human being. Look how the sunlight reflects off you now — you’re glowing!
Watch that old, confining, restrictive coat burn in an incinerator — it’s producing the fuel that will jet-propel you…
