10 Phrases to a Grateful Heart

I bet you at least one of them you haven’t thought of

Sometimes in our lives, it is harder to look at the brighter side or keep our hearts grateful.

This year I will not be able to visit my family for Christmas. This might be your case as well. Whatever your situation, feeling thankful helps me go through challenging moments.

For those occasions, I keep a list of things to cheer me up. It takes little effort to write them down. Keep it visible or in a journal. Stick notes on your fridge or put them inside a jar. But make sure you have them handy.

I know it sounds childish and maybe even foolish, but it works!

Your heart will feel it. It might not be instantaneous. You might need to read a few of them or write new ones. Even so, you have nothing to lose! (well, maybe a few minutes).

Think of the things you take for granted, like waking up this morning, having your favorite cup of coffee, or wearing a nice pair of shoes to work. We tend to forget how lucky we are we can hear, talk, and see.

So, when you create your list you could write a title on top or place a label on your jar — “I am grateful for”, or “I feel grateful for” — to keep it simple and get your list going, or you could make it as fancy as you like.
