Let’s get right to it —

The problem is the expectation that we need “new” news 24/7.

Something doesn’t have to happen every second.

And if it does, I don’t need to know about it.

I don’t need to know every single word someone shares.

Every minor development in an ongoing event (election, war, trade agreements, budget process).

Every single person involved, their comments, thoughts on the topic, or response to someone else’s comments.

That’s not news.

Those are distractions.

I find these a waste of my time (and my life).

  • Distractions from actual news, updates, and changes.
  • Distractions from events in my household and neighborhood.
  • Distractions from what is happening in my city, state, country, and world.
  • Distraction from the facts.

Living with intention is my path to happiness. Is that considered counterculture now?
