What do your dreams depict?
Searing stares burn my corneas from the TSA agents front and center
Eyebrows melting down with sweat
One vintage brown suitcase embedded in my torso
Appendages striking through grown in reach
Lying supine, tears on fire, minimal movement on the conveyor belt ride
Pre-op screening with the guardians of whimsy
I can’t tuck the overgrowth of my innards away
Dried-up and withered baggage
X-rays of hidden contents overripe and locked inside
The vines still climbing, thorns still piercing
Tagged with exceeding the limit, rejected on search and review
Transported by wolves in guard, swiftly and directly to baggage claim
No identification to be seen or unseen
Vanishing design and detail polishing fingerprints away
Carousel chaos moving metronome pacing in step with the pitiful stares
Unexpected floods of lighters wave on ripples ruffling the fluid path to me
The skies break open, lowering a hoist cable handcuffed firmly to my zip-tied waist…
