The Significance of Our Frame of Reference
Exposure Matters
I was warming up at the Dunaway track in Southwest Portland when the thought “Frame of Reference” came to mind. I immediately reflected on people, experiences, and places, realizing the wealth of information these critical elements have provided, like a tool shed filled with a variety of tools in various shapes and sizes. Some are unique, and others are as common as a screwdriver, hammer, pliers, and snow chains. It’s the kind of content that often gets overlooked because, unless there’s a repair to be made, rarely is there a reason to contemplate their existence.
Oftentimes, our frames of reference slip into the recesses of our memory and become like items stored in the back of a closet until an external factor forces us to stop and reflect on solving a problem that appears unrecognizable. Prompting us to conduct a mad search for clues.
