MY TRYST WITH HEARTFULNESS MEDITATION
The Heartfulness Meditation or Sahaj Marg, an ancient form of meditation and a system of Raja Yoga that was rediscovered in the late 19th century, opened my mind and soul to an altogether new world
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” I have always found this famous quote by Paulo Coelho resonating. I myself have experienced it ample times and the latest was just a month ago.
So, in September, I attended a two-day yoga and meditation retreat which left me rejuvenated and serene. However, the positive state that I was in didn’t last long. Prior to this, I had attempted meditation through YouTube videos and podcasts. The experience was neither fruitless nor fully satisfying. I think I was looking for permanence. And then, as Rumi said, “what you are seeking, is seeking you”, the opportunity popped up magically out of nowhere.
A month ago, when I was taking my morning walk along with my husband on a Sunday, we bumped into one of our housing society residents, a middle-aged couple whom we have known for the past few years. Around their neck, both husband and wife were wearing what looked like identity cards.
