Time Magazine tells stories of two Heroic Women two days apart.
Why does it feel so uncomfortable…
Two stories, one on the 16th of April and the other on the 18th of April, feature an Israeli woman and a Palestinian woman. They both have in common that their stories need to be heard, but one is revered and the other is killed for speaking out.
The Israeli woman, Noa Argamani is twenty-seven. She was a hostage who returned from Gaza after being captured by Hamas military. She was released after two hundred and forty-five days.
Her image is famous as she looks terrified on the back of a motorbike as she is being taken from the Nova music festival.
She tells her story to help bring about the release of the remaining fifty-nine hostages. Noa is one of 100 most influential people in 2025 by Time Magazine.
The other woman is a Palestinian photojournalist, Fatma Hassona, who is twenty-five years old and has lived in Gaza her entire life. She and an Iranian filmmaker, Sepideh Farsi, co-created a documentary called ‘Put Your Soul On Your Hand And Walk’. It’s a record of daily life in war-torn Gaza.
Fatma died after her home was struck by an Israeli air strike on April 16, along with nine of her family members, including her pregnant sister. Her death came…
