It’s like setting up shop at the bottom of a snowy mountain. You know its risky, there could be repercussions but you do it anyway.
You decide to get working on a project but before you get started you decide to have a harmless little scroll on social media — just to see what everyone else is doing. No harm in that right?
After a couple of minutes, you start to hear the rumble of the oncoming avalanche, a sensation startling in your mind. The level of distraction has gone too far.
Your inspiration minutes earlier is quickly shifting to fear and doubt.
Is what I am doing good enough? I love the font she used. They have such a perfect way of explaining things. I wish I could write like that.
And suddenly the rumble has become an avalanche of emotion.
You are internally running now, the anxiety of imposter syndrome is chasing you further and further away from your own dreams. You are exhausted from running. You end up spending the next few hours, days, weeks sleeping on yourself. The external noise has overcome you.
The truth of the matter is we all feel it.
