How I Transitioned into Data in 2022
Without a formal education in the field
I was stuck in a job that was burning me out.
Long hours. Understaffed. Refusal to innovate.
I was an Operations Supervisor with a company that was overworking its employees and people were leaving left and right.
About 80% of the department of roughly 100 people had been with the company for less than 6 months.
The company started off as promising when I joined in 2019, but it never quite recovered from the business impacts of the pandemic in 2020.
By mid 2022, I was exhausted.
I knew I needed a change.
But at the time, I wasn’t sure what that was.
Little did I know that data analytics would become my passion and would eventually be my new career.
My hope is that if you’re thinking about a career in data, my story could inspire you and also illustrate how you can pivot into the field as well.
