Thoughts On A Monday

We can all agree that Christmas, 2020, was different. For many, there weren’t a lot of presents under the tree, the Christmas spirit was thin, and Christmas cheer even thinner. Yet somehow this holiday season, was, special.

Looking back on this past year – this crazy year – has me sitting on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the approaching New Year.

New Year. No two words have ever held so much meaning.

With 2020 almost in our rear view mirror, I, like many, am eager to move forward and leave this year behind. A year punctuated by a pandemic, hatred, injustice, inequality, social and political unrest, and intolerance. Concepts that are not foreign to our society, but concepts that all converged at once in a year that tested our resiliency.

As I sit here sipping my coffee, I’m thinking about the challenges that the last month of 2020 has dropped on my own doorstep; like a steaming bag of dog crap in a brown paper bag.

Contemplating my own situation, I am reminded of how biases, unhappiness, and hatred can colour perspectives and cause people to make judgements based on…
