Yesterday, things just got very real
To those who have little, he promises to make America Shangri-La with a sprinkling of nirvana for every one of his loyal supporters. For those with nothing to lose, he represents their saviour.
Listening to Donald Trump give his inaugural speech yesterday, I could see why so many people buy what he’s selling. He’s peddling hope to the hopeless who are willing to sell off their humanity in return for promises made by a lunatic. It’s like watching a run-away train head for a cliff.
We’re living in unprecedented times. As of yesterday, another kind of Hitler is in control of the third biggest country in the world.
Who is Trump, the man, anyway? The people who could tell us, who know the truth – his kids and wives — although not Ivana Trump who signed a non-disclosure agreement when she divorced him in December 1990 on the grounds of cruel and inhumane treatment. Isn’t that who everyone wants to have for a president? And she’s dead, so there’s that.
And his current wife, Melanie. She’s not likely to talk to anyone if she wants to stay alive, lest she die from blunt torso injuries after falling down the stairs, like Ivana. And what was with that hat yesterday? I don’t trust anyone whose eyes I can’t see.
