There’s a Glaring Problem with Channelers

I really wanted to believe, but they’re making that impossible

I once had the unenviable task of debunking a channeler. Back in the days of Yahoo Groups, a self-proclaimed medium/channeler joined an afterlife group I frequented. For weeks, the new member monopolized the message board, claiming she was communicating on behalf of spirits, angels, historical figures, dead celebrities, etc. Her posts were long, repetitive and always written in a casual, narrative style. The extensive dialogue she produced included famous quotes, lines of poetry and even song lyrics.

In private chats with the 2 other genuine mediums (out of about 900 members), I learned I wasn’t alone in my misgivings. Spirit communication simply does not yield the kind of material she was posting. Thoughts transmitted telepathically are not structured the same as spoken language. In my experience, mediums typically only pick up single words, partial phrases, initials or syllables, hints of a name, etc. We just don’t get complete sentences. That’s why you’ll never see John Edwards or Kim Russo or Tyler Henry approach clients with pages of transcribed material, all perfectly composed in dialog format.

Soon after, I challenged that person online. First, I asked if she were dictating those conversations verbatim-- writing down each & every word the spirit/angel…
