And with this…the 2023 season has come to an end

Our experiences during holidays change as we grow older.

The holidays used to feel like exceptional days. Days when schoolwork and chores didn’t matter. Days when you could just sit back and watch tv the whole morning. And food would just be put down on the table non stop. I still remember the excitement that came over me every time I saw the presents appear underneath the tree. But as with everything in life as you grow up holidays are not the same. Now, holidays don’t entirely lose their magic but they definitely evolve. There is a really good old school College Humor sketch (now Dropout Tv) that illustrates my thoughts, titled; The six Christmas Movies You Live Through

and the idea behind it is, that as we go through different stages in life, our perception of these special dates changes. When you are a kid it’s a day where you get to run around with brother’s, sister’s, cousin’s and stay up till after midnight, everything was just so exciting. Now as a grown up with a job, holidays are still exciting but in different ways. It’s a time where I can go back home, Where I can stay in my childhood bedroom, I can go through old pictures hanging on the wall. Suddenly you start noticing things that maybe you didn’t pay that much attention to…
