Lost ‘Hidden Chapter’ Of The Bible Rediscovered 1,750 Years After It Was Written With UV Light

According to research published last month in the journal , an Austrian scientist discovered a “hidden chapter” of a biblical text that is supposed to date back 1,750 years.

Grigory Kessel, an Austrian Academy of Sciences medievalist analyzed and translated the biblical chapter.

According to the study, the hidden chapter represents one of the earliest Gospels.

According to Kessel and his colleagues, the newly found text is an interpretation of Matthew chapter 12 of the Bible, which was initially translated as part of the Old Syriac translations.

Grigory Kessel used ultraviolet photography to examine the Syriac translation of Matthew chapters 11 and 12 of the Bible beneath three layers of text in a manuscript.

According to Grigory Kessel, the Syriac Christian tradition has various translations of the Old and New Testaments. Until recently, the Old Syriac translation of the gospels was known to exist in just two manuscripts.

The text is thought to have been written in the 3rd century before being copied in the 6th century.
