Why do many stop writing and creating
How to save yourself from getting burned!
I am both a visual artist and a writer. Both are my passions and I get so much joy out of doing them! I wish that for everyone.
This morning I was reading Writing Mistakes by Ajayi Olalekan and it gave me an important insight that I need to share.
Ajayi says:
Just writing what you wish is a recipe for failure as a writer. No one cares what you think or feel. Harsh but true!
This realization hits home to me because I wish I learned this earlier in life. I learned this lesson a few years into my art practice and it made me lose my way for quite some time.
We all deeply yearn to connect, we want people to resonate with what we create. But we also want to create what we are passionate about. These two however don’t always match up.
And this mismatch is what I want to talk about.
The writer has an important message about how we can get closer to our audience and still be true to what we are passionate about
