Why Cutting out Pepsi Helped Me Improve My Life
And how this one small change can improve your own life’s perspective
There I was again, early Monday morning, on my way to work I just had to make a stop at the gas station. I grab a giant 44 oz. cup. and add just a little bit of crushed ice, and then push the lever under the Pepsi label and watch as that beautiful, bubbly, delicious goodness fills up to the brim.
It happened just like it did almost every morning, and also just like it does in those commercials where they make it look all tantalizing. The fizziness, and the crisp sound of the bubbles popping, almost like Rice Krispies, becomes music to my ears.
This was an all too familiar ritual that happened much too regularly. The store clerks had even started recognizing me, which was not a good thing.
This particular morning, as I looked lustingly (is that a word?) at my beverage of choice, I started to wonder if I needed to make a change, if I was in a rut. “Am I drinking this too much?”, I thought to myself.
My family has never been coffee or alcohol drinkers, except Grandpa, so soda was our main vice. And ever since my early adulthood, it was usually the way that helped wake me up in the morning, and how I got my brain started in order to get anything done.
