She Was Too Intimidating
I couldn’t get close
I was working on my laptop as usual. Researching insights for a script I needed to complete, when I saw her for the first time.
I had too much to say to her, but I couldn’t gather guts.
That day I realised what ‘out of your league’ really meant. The term we casually used in schools, trying to sound cool.
I stared at her for a while. Usually, I am good at remembering time, but I can’t recall how long I stalked her that night. Digitally, of course.
But now that I have all my tabs closed, philosophically and literally, let me explain to you what happened.
“New Terminal 5 at Changi Airport Singapore”. This was the topic I was researching. And a lot of article-skimming and Google pages later, I found an article, and it sounded promising.
I opened it. It was just a few sentences in length. But it didn’t break my heart. It delivered on its promise. Gave me something spectacular to add to my research.
And just when I was about the close the tab, my eyes landed on the author's byline of the article.
I wouldn’t have bothered about it otherwise, but since it was an Indian name, I couldn’t help but click on it. Making friends with writers is something I can’t let go of…
