Does Zelenskyy Owe an Apology?
If anyone owes one, it’s Trump!
They say Trump is a bully. But this is a new low! You invite a head of state whose country has been the victim of a devastating war for 3 years, humiliate him on live television, and then accuse him of being disrespectful? Even the heads of state of enemy nations are not treated like that — at least publicly!
It’s been more than 24 hours (as I write this) since I first saw the showing the spat between the leaders, and I’m still unable to digest it! Trump and his associates say that Zelenskyy should apologize to the American people. An apology for what, exactly?
Should he apologize for correcting JD Vance on his factual inaccuracies and lack of understanding of the ground realities in Ukraine? Or should he apologize for being offended by the insensitive and inaccurate remarks made by Trump and his associates during the ?
Imagine Winston Churchill telling the Polish Prime Minister in exile in 1944, “You’re making things difficult for me — you hate Hitler too much!”
Perhaps he should apologize for pointing out that Putin cannot be trusted to honor deals and that, without security guarantees from the U.S., Ukraine gains little…
