Grace
Grace admired Alex from the living room window as he walked up the sidewalk toward her house in faded blue jeans, a white button-down, and a slightly wrinkled blue blazer. She could tell from his casual yet purposeful walk that he didn’t know the effect his physique had on others. His badge hung around his neck, with the sun reflecting off the shaded frames on his face. She wished she could see his eyes and that nothing obstructed her view of the green in his hazel eyes.
It was probably a good thing she couldn’t see them. Now was not the right time to have wet panties. Lust was one thing, but she felt a connection to this man. A man she’d only known for three days, and it was both frightening and exhilarating. She’d never felt such an instant connection to a person.
She impatiently waited for him to reach the door. By the time he reached it, she felt like he’d been walking toward the door for twenty minutes. Her entire body was flushed with heat.
