Strength in Weakness
Rejoicing in Your Weaknesses by Embracing God’s Strength
“For when I am weak, then I am strong, because the power of Christ is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:10
For the longest time I felt as though I had to have it all together and be perfectly put together in order to come into God’s presence and service. Yet, the word of God makes it abundantly clear that this way of thinking is not so. In fact, it turns out God says it is actually the opposite entirely.
Many times we can see our weaknesses as wickedness, but God sees our weaknesses as opportunities for growth in faith, spiritual maturity, and purpose.
Without our weaknesses we would have no need for dependency on God. We may become prideful in our own efforts and abilities thus rendering us ineffective for the service of God’s kingdom.
The Bible makes it clear in 1 Corinthians 1:27 that “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”
