11 Chill Ways to Be Productive
When you need the dopamine, but are procrastinating that assignment
We’ve all been there: The weekend comes around, and the list of things we have to do has only gotten bigger. It’s overwhelming, so we end up stuck, scrolling social media and lying on our couch, growing more anxious and guilty by the minute, wishing there was a magic cure for procrastination.
Whether it’s a test looming over your head, a book you need to edit, or an email that you really don’t want to send, sometimes jumping into productivity-mode simply isn’t possible. It’s too big of a step, too intimidating.
Luckily, starting (or continuing) a big project isn’t the only way to get out of the doom cycle.
When you accomplish a task, however small, it creates a sort of “productivity inertia” (a person in motion will stay in motion, or however the law goes). Doing dishes is so much easier once you’ve folded the kitchen towels, and studying is easier once you’ve done the dishes.
The hardest part is getting the person (you) moving in the first place. So you may as well start small.
