Look around, and it’s hard to miss: the world feels a little…off. Leaders are distracted by their egos, kindness is dismissed as weakness, and people seem more interested in winning arguments than building something meaningful. We point fingers at bad policies, corrupt politicians, and broken systems, but what if we miss the bigger picture? Virtue is the foundation of a stable and prosperous polity. Say what? Let’s cut to the chase: when we put crappy people in charge, chaos ensues. Forget tackling climate change, economic stability, or healthcare — these leaders are too busy renaming months after themselves, creating pet-centric national holidays, or staking claims on territories (Panama? Greenland? Canada?).

As the saying goes, politics is downstream from culture. Translation? A selfish, lazy, or morally bankrupt culture produces leaders who reflect that. It’s like trying to make lemonade with rotten lemons — no amount of sugar can hide the rot. These bad leaders excel in looking busy while achieving nothing. They hold endless press conferences, launch vague initiatives like “The Global Task Force for Strategic Synergy,” and “Department of Efficiency” and post hate-filled tweets…
