Veins Of Lightening

Lightening strikes a tree

Burning a few neighboring plants

Shocking plant life

Down to the roots

Like long lost twins finally reintroduced

So many questions

So much catching up

Did your mother used to kiss the sky

get evicted from a cumulus cloud

Did your father plant many seeds

Burying his past in the ground

Did he playfully call you sprout

Did she call your name with thunderous sounds

I knew one day we’d meet again

You looking like her I looking like him

So many questions

So much catching up

Your anvil shaped home

Me growing from the mud

Who knows when we’ll meet again

So, here let’s take a pic photosynthesizing

Because your type don’t like to strike twice

On the same horizon

Moms old, Pops old with miles of separation

Leaving it to us

To bridge the gap of reconciliation

Being the twin Veins Of Lightening

That we are
