The Unsolved Murder of Mary Pewitt
In the early morning hours of June 4th, 1988, twenty-five-year-old Mary Pewitt was stabbed to death in her Comanche, Oklahoma home. Mary left behind two young daughters. Her loved ones have been determined to find justice in Mary’s unsolved murder, but unfortunately, no charges have ever been laid.
The night before she was murdered, Mary dropped off her two young daughters (six-year-old Kira, and seven-year-old Amber) at her parents’ house. Mary had a bartending shift at Harold’s Club that evening, so she had asked her mother to babysit the girls. Mary went to work, and her shift was uneventful. At midnight, Mary drove to her boss’s house to drop off the bar’s receipts from that night.
Afterwards, Mary drove to her house (located at 611 S 10th St.) She hung out with her boyfriend of three months, Randy Benson, and they watched a movie together. He left at 12:45 AM, and one of the neighbours saw him walk back to his house. This was the last time that anyone had seen Mary alive, as she died shortly afterwards.
Mary’s mother, Elizabeth, drove her two young granddaughters home at 6:30 AM. She needed to drop the kids off early, because Elizabeth was going to attend a ‘TOPS’ weight loss meeting with one of her friends early that morning. But surprisingly, Mary didn’t answer the door. Mary’s daughter, Amber, went to her mother’s bedroom…
